Walkies in the park

On Sunday I went for walkies in Bure Park with mummy, grandma and my friend Lolly Pop lurcher.

I haven't liked long walkies recently because it has been very wet and I don't like getting wet.  But mummy and grandma said that as it had been dry for a couple of days we would probably be ok.

I do love off lead walkies and me and Lolly did a lot a running.  Mummy and grandma weren't quite right because the grass was still very wet in the middle so we stuck to the outside.

Lolly can run very fast and I did my best to keep up with her.

We had almost finished our walkies and were walking past the lake (very wet) when Lolly spotted two ducks and took off after them.  I forgot myself for a moment and chased after her right through a huge puddle.  I was absolutely soaked and had to run around in circles for five minutes to get over myself.

Mummy and grandma said me and Lolly were very smelly and put us in the shower for a wash when we got back to grandma's house.  Mummy put me in the backyard to dry off and I had to rub myself on my bed for at least ten minutes to try to get rid of the wet.

Moral of this tale: do not always believe mummys and grandmas when they say it is dry...

My adventure

Wednesday is the night that me and my Mum go to Grandma's for dinner.  As usual Mum put my lead on after dinner and I was all ready to go car tats.  We got to the car and Mum pointed the magic key at the car but nothing happened.  Mum said a rude word and I figured the magic key had run out of magic because Mum put it in the door instead to open the door.  Mum then stood there looking quite confused because the light inside the car didn't come on.  Mum then put the key into the hole next to the big wheel and turned it and nothing happened.  Mum said another rude word and said that we wouldn't be going car tats tonight and muttered another rude word about something called a battery.  So back home we went.

Mum talked to Grandma on the magic talking machine and said we couldn't come car tats because the car didn't go vroom.  I was very disappointed because I like car tats.  Mum said she was also very disappointed because she wanted to show Grandma the Christmas birdies she has been making.  Then Mum said 'How about we get the bus?'  I thought this was a good idea.  I've only been on a bus once before but it's very exciting.

Mum walked me to the bus stop and the bus turned up straight away and we got on and sat right at the very front. I was a very good boy and got lots of cuddles from people getting on and off the bus.  Mum said we were very lucky because this bus was a special bus that stopped right outside Grandma's house.

I was really happy to see Grandma and gave her lots of cuddles and she gave me two biscuits!  What a brilliant adventure...

My run in with a cat

A few days ago my mummy was taking me for my morning walk as usual.  We turned the corner and I walked straight into a cat.  On the whole I'm not too keen on cats but mummy has been trying to teach me to be nicer and I now have two cat friends that I don't bark at including a black and white cat which mummy says looks like Jess from Postman Pat but I don't know what that means.

Anyway, as I was saying I turned the corner and literally walked straight into the cat.  Remembering what my mummy has told me I didn't bark but tried to make friends.  I sniffed the cat's bottom as a sign of friendship but the cat didn't like it and hit me in the face.  I was a bit surprised but mummy explained to me that cats aren't the same as dogs and don't greet each other by sniffing each others bottoms.  I always knew cats were weird...

My precious

On Friday I thought I was in for a treat because my mummy stayed home from work.  We went lovely walkies in the sunshine and she made loads of fuss of me.

After lunch a strange man came to the door and I barked a lot.  Mummy explained to me that the nice man had come to fix the hot water and I was quite happy because he gave me a biscuit.  But I was still very excited because I hoped he'd have more biscuits.  So my mummy gave me one of my special treats - she calls them 'my precious'.  They really are very special and I love them very much.  I don't get them very often and I look after them really well when I do.  I walked round the house with my precious trying to find the best place to keep it safe but nowhere seemed right.  I came back downstairs and decided that under the cushion on the couch would be a good place so I pushed it under there with my nose and kept pushing it in over and over again to make sure it was properly safe.  Mummy said I looked really funny because it looked like I was trying to bury my precious.  After I'd made sure my precious was safe I lay in front of it to make sure no-one took it away.  Mummy said I had my grumpy face on...

Hello!

Hello everyone.  My name is Bruiser and this is my first blog post and I'm a little nervous.

I have been reading my friend David's blog and I'm not sure my adventures will match his but I will try my best.

Last weekend my mummy asked me if I would like to go walkies.  Love my mummy but this was a very silly question!  Mummy said we were going car tats and I got all excited and barked for my lead.  Mummy put my lead on, we went to her car and I jumped up onto my blankie on the back seat.  Then she took me to a car boot sale... I'm not keen on car boots sales, they are too crowded, but play along because mummy seems to like them.

After the car boot sale we got back in the car and mummy said we were going to the beach.  This wasn't quite true.  Mummy drove to our usual spot on near the racecourse in Yarmouth and parked the car at the top of the slope.  Mummy let me off my lead and I ran really fast towards the dunes and scared some birds.  Instead of going straight to the beach like she promised mummy said we had to go a little bit further before we got to the beach because there were some birds nesting.  But I've only got little legs and it was really warm and I got really tired.  Mummy did stop to give me a drink a couple of times but I was too tired to drink and couldn't go any further.  Mummy turned round and saw that I wasn't walking any further and asked me if I had car face and asked me where I wanted to go.  I can't speak human but I know my mummy is quite clever and will follow me wherever I go.  So I turned round and started walking back to where the car is.  We hadn't taken a straight path but I am also quite clever and knew where mummy had parked!  Mummy said that she would just follow me and I took us straight back to the car.  Mummy told me I was a very clever and a good boy although I was a little sad and she said that we would have icecream if we'd walked further... But it's ok because mummy gave my jerky when we got home!  I love my mummy x
